Sartorial Gold at Old Navy

November 29, 2012

Last night I went to Old Navy with my friend, Cat. (Sidenote: isn’t it strange that I am a crazy cat lady with like a million friends named Cat? Which do you think happened first? The love of cats, or the love of Cats?)

There was some cute stuff at the Old Navy — some nice enough dresses and coats and super shiny sparkly tank tops (!!!), but the polyester and the acrylic kept sneaking into the ingredients list and I kept having to walk away from the cute.

Until I stumbled upon the men’s section. Pssst! This is where they hide the cotton! This mustard and navy striped tee was only $8 and is kind of the most perfect-fitting, comfiest tee ever. The oatmeal and navy striped sweater is also 100% cotton (and only $20). It is extra long which on me means perfect tunic length with jeans, but on you probably means perfect sweater dress length. Sweater dress on top of tights plus lace up boots equals the winter uniform I’ve been searching for.

Get ye to the Old Navy men’s section! And if you have time while you’re there, maybe get something for your man. I guess they’d look good in this stuff too.

I love it. I think I’ll give this a go.

I have tried and tried to love Old Navy. I want to like it because everything there is so inexpensive and a lot of it is pretty cute. I just can’t, though. Their cotton has always felt wrong to me- I’m super picky about cotton, especially when it comes to t-shirts and nothing ever fits me properly. Maybe all I’ve been doing wrong all these years is shopping in the women’s section. Ha ha.
