Ermie

I love me some Ermie. I discovered Ermie the blog first, and then immediately fell in love with Ermie the designs and Jennifer Parry Dodge, the designer.

Jennifer creates her own textiles and then turns those into beautifully crafted dresses, scarves, leggings, skirts, and even blankets. Then she adds to her collection, collaborating with other brilliant designers on sweaters, jewelry, shoes, seemingly whatever the creative mood requires.

I appreciate Ermie not just for the use of fine fabrics and materials, not just for the right-on drape and cut of the clothing, but because Ermie is an actual piece of art. It’s evident that artists created each element of the finished product, and even that the collection as a whole is more like an art exhibition than a fashion collection.
