A Good Monday

January 29, 2013

Yesterday we decided to go for a hike in the foothills and to stop for a yummy brunch on our way. We were just a few miles outside of town when my honey realized he’d rather go to San Francisco for the day instead. I love me some spontaneity so we turned right around and drove the opposite direction to visit the bay!

All we really did was walk around the wharf and yesterday was such a great adventure for us. That ‘yeah, sure, let’s do it’ feeling and sharing each other’s company goes a long way. Add in the beautifully warm weather and blue skies and yesterday was just too good.

To really make the day complete, we brought home a live crab and a loaf of sourdough from Boudin. I had mentioned my craving for crab a few days ago and been promised a crab dinner for Monday night. It’s a pretty awesome coincidence that our dinner got to include this little road trip for procuring the ingredients!

My man did the cooking for us, using instructions from the fish guy on the wharf and this instructable to guide him. He put out some melted butter with garlic and some lemon wedges, but the crab was so good we just ate it plain.

Today it’s back to real life with packing and moving and working on the list of things to do, but luckily, with days like yesterday in between, homebound days are refreshing in their own way.
